1. Introduction
At Kidsoz, the privacy, digital safety, and security of children is our absolute highest priority. We have built our educational platform from the ground up to be fully compliant with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and India's Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act. This Privacy Policy outlines our data practice standards and highlights our commitment to maintaining a completely safe and transparent ecosystem for your family.
2. Zero Personal Identifiable Information (Zero-PII)
Kidsoz operates under a strict **Zero-PII** policy. We do not prompt for, collect, store, or transmit any personally identifiable information from children, including but not limited to:
- First and last names
- Physical addresses or geolocations
- Email addresses or phone numbers
- Device persistent identifiers or Advertising IDs (IDFA/GAID)
Any settings config, such as the Parent Dashboard Access PIN, is generated by the parent and encrypted locally on the device. It is never transmitted to our systems or stored in the cloud.
3. Platform Device Permissions Analysis
Our mobile application is designed to function with minimal system privileges. We do not seek intrusive permissions. An analysis of our application configuration files confirms:
- Android (AndroidManifest.xml): Kidsoz requests zero runtime permissions. The application does not require access to your device's Camera, Microphone, Location services (GPS), Contacts, or external storage.
- iOS (Info.plist): The application only configures background fetch capabilities to support remote push notifications (APNS/FCM). This is used strictly to deliver optional developmental tips, parent dashboard summaries, and app updates. There are no prompts or authorization requests for media libraries, tracking permissions, or location tracking.
4. Local Storage & Data Retention
All data generated by the application—including completed learning categories, quiz results, game progress milestones, and screen-time tracking analytics—is stored exclusively on your local device. We utilize secure local databases that reside within the application's private sandbox sandbox directories.
Because this data is stored locally:
- We do not maintain servers or remote databases storing your child's learning statistics.
- Deleting the Kidsoz application from your mobile device will permanently and immediately delete all learning progress, profiles, and custom configuration settings.
5. 100% Ad-Free Environment
Kidsoz does not integrate third-party ad networks, software development kits (SDKs), or trackers that could monitor children's online behavior or serve targeted advertisements. The experience is 100% ad-free, ensuring children can learn and play without exposure to distracting commercial messages or external web links.
6. Parental Gates & Dashboard Security
To ensure kids remain in a safe learning environment, all external endpoints (such as contacting support or leaving app store feedback) are securely guarded behind a mathematical Parental Gate. The Parent Dashboard, which controls learning progress tracking, screen time constraints, and sleep mode configurations, is additionally protected behind a user-defined secure PIN.
7. Your Rights under COPPA and DPDP
Since we do not collect any personal data, there is no data for us to modify, delete, or share. You have complete ownership of all data stored on your physical device. If you wish to wipe the application's memory, you may clear the application's storage in your operating system settings or uninstall the app.
8. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our app's features or compliance guidelines. Any updates will be posted directly on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. We encourage parents to review this policy periodically.
